Abstrak
ABSTRACT Agung Shafikri. AS : 2317,068,"An Analisys of Students’ Experience of Learning English in Online Class at SMAN 1 Mandah Academic Year 2021/2022". Thesis English Education Study Program UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek of Bukittinggi, 2021/2022. This research was motivated by a changed in the learning system from face to face (offline system) to distance learning (online system) that caused of the covid-19. Various kinds of the new things were experienced by the students during learning English in online class. The goals of this study is to find out how students’ experience of learning English in online class during the covid-19 pandemic. This research used a descriptive quantitative method. The population in this research were 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Mandah. The sample in this research was two clasess of the 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Mandah, there are XI IPA 3 and XI IPS 1 as many as 54 students. The data collection used total sampling technique bacause total of the population in this reasearch was less that 100. The data collection was in the form of a questionnaire. Researcher have given that questionnaires to the students. Data analysis was carried out descriptively statitically to find out how students’ experience of learning English in online class (online learning). This research found that in general, the results of the research on students’ experience of learning English in online class or distance learning were categorized as enough with a percentage of 71,54%. Based on the results of the data analysis that seen from the Likert Scale which showed the students’ experience of learning English in online class, which can concluded that the average results of the questionnaire given to the students in experience of learning English in online class were declared enough. The suggestion put forward by the researcher is the learning experience that gained by the students refers to whether or not the teacher’s performance in teaching is good or not.
