Abstrak
ABSTRACT Zulhadi, 2318081. “The Effect of make a match method toward students vocabulary mastery at the seventh Grade of MTsN6 Agam” a Thesis English Education Department , OF UIN SJECH M. DJAMIL DJAMBEK BUKITTINGGI, 2020. This research background discussed about the students problems in vocabulary at seventh grade of MTsN6 Agam, that the students were lack in mastering of vocabulary, The teacher still use conventional method, some students said that not interestedand the Students were difficult in memorizing new vocabulary. To solve students problems above, the researcher used make a match as teaching method. The purposes of this research were to know whether there was a significant effect of using make a match method toward students vocabulary mastery at 7th grade at MTSN 6 Agam. Make a match is a method in teaching vocabulary. To know whether there was a significant difference students’ vocabulary mastery. This research was classified as a quasi-experimental research which used experimental class and control class as sample of the research. Experimental class was the students of VII3 which consists of 32 students. Control class was the students of class VII2 which consists of 32 students. The data was obtained by using pre-test and post-test. Pre-test was given to both groups before doing the treatment and posttest was given after doing the treatment. The treatment was using make a match method in experimental class. From the statistical analysis, that researcher found that: The first hypothesis analyzed that there is significant effect of using make match method toward students vocabulary mastery. Based on the data that researcher explained in the findings, it can be conclude that the post-test score in the experiment class who are thaught by using make a match were higher then the post-test score in the control class who are thaught by using conventional method and based on the analyzed data using independent t test, the obtained significant value or sig ( 2-tailed) is 0,000 0,05. It means that alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected, and teaching vocabulary using make a match was better then did not used make a match method
