Abstrak
This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of students, in which in the learning process educators still use lecture or discussion methods so that during learning students only listen to and receive material explanations without mastery of relevant competencies and structures. the learning process still uses the revised 2013 curriculum, which requires students to be able to have productivity, creativity, innovation and have activities that can contribute to social life. The purpose of this study was to find out how big the "Influence of the Application of Problem Based Learning Learning Models on Students' Problem Solving Ability at MTs Muhammadiyah Alamanda Kec. Kinali Kab. West Pasaman. This quantitative research uses Quasy Experimental Design research. The population in this study amounted to 60 students, namely all students of class VII at MTs Muhammadiyah Alamanda. The sample used in this study was 60 students, with a random sampling technique if the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The data analysis technique used is the description of the research data, normal test, homogeneity and hypothesis. The results showed that the test using the t-test obtained the results tcount = 13.863 and ttable = 1.6715 and the value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 at the significant level α = 0.05. because the significant value of 2-tailed α, ie 0.000 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, the problem-based learning model has an influence on students' problem-solving abilities.
