Abstrak
This research was done because there were some students that had problems in reading. The problems were students cannot understand the text well. The students fell difficult to comprehend the text the idea well, the students cannot make correct sentence, and last the student include understanding the main idea, supporting detail, difficult words. Relate to this condition, the researcher tried to use reciprocal teaching as a technique to teach the students in reading comprehension. Therefore, the researcher wanted to find out the effect of using reciprocal teaching towards students’ reading comprehension in exposition text at eleventh grade students of MAN 3 Agam in the academic years 2021/2022. This research is experimental research that involve two variables which are independent and dependent variables. The independent variable was reciprocal teaching technique and dependent variable was student’s reading comprehension. This research was conducted at MAN 3 Agam Kubang Putih. The population of this research was 106 students with the sample was 60 students. There were two classes, XI IPA as an experimental class and XI IPS as a control class. There was one instrument used that was reading comprehension test. The data was analyzed using SPSS 26 version. The researcher discovered that the effect of reciprocal teaching technique in exposition text of student’s reading comprehension at MAN 3 Agam was significant. The result of this research showed that there was the effect of using reciprocal teaching towards students’ reading comprehension in exposition text at eleventh grade students of MAN 3 Agam in the academic years 2021/2022. It has presented by using statistical of paired sample test SPSS. The criteria of paired simple t test was the Ha is accepted when the significance test 0,005, in contrast, Ho is refused. Based on the research which the significance test was 0,00 0,05, it meant that Ha is accepted. In conclusion, the hypothesis of Ha was there is significant effect of using reciprocal teaching towards students’ reading comprehension in exposition text at MAN 3 Agam Kubang Putih. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan karena ada beberapa siswa yang memiliki masalah dalam pemahaman membaca. Masalahyang di hadapi siswa berupa siswa tidak dapat memahami teks dengan baik. Siswa merasa sulit untuk memahami gagasan teks dengan baik, dan terakhir siswa termasuk memahami kata-kata sulit dari sebuah teks. Berkaitan dengan kondisi ini, peneliti mencoba untuk menggunakan pengajaran timbal balik sebagai teknik untuk mengajar siswa dalam pemahaman membaca. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang melibatkan dua variabel yaitu variabel bebas dan variabel terikat. Variabel bebasnya adalah teknik pengajaran timbal balik dan variabel terikatnya adalah pemahaman membaca siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MAN 3 Agam Kubang Putih. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 106 siswa dengan sampel 60 siswa. Ada dua kelas, XI IPA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS sebagai kelas kontrol. Pada penelitian ini instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes pemahaman bacaan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 26. Disajikan dengan menggunakan statistik uji sampel berpasangan SPSS. Kriteria uji t sederhana berpasangan adalah Ha diterima bila uji signifikansi 0,005, sebaliknya Ho ditolak. Berdasarkan penelitian yang uji signifikansinya 0,00 0,05, berarti Ha diterima. Kesimpulannya, hipotesis Ha adalah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan reciprocal teaching terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks eksposisi di MAN 3 Agam Kubang Putih
