Profil Self-Esteem Siswa SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung

Skipsi yang disusun oleh Suci Waletri, Nim. 2619040, Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling, Fakultas Tabiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan, UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, skipsi ini berjudul : “Pofil Self-Esteem Siswa SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung”. Maksud dari judul ini yaitu sebagai gambaran mengenai tingkat self-esteem atau pengharrgaan tehadap diri sendii yang dimiliki oleh siswa SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya self-esteem dalam perkembangan peserta didik. Self-esteem yang baik akan membantu siswa memiliki rasa percaya diri, mampu menghargai diri sendiri, berinteraksi secara positif dengan lingkungan, serta berani menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Sebaliknya, self-esteem yang rendah dapat berdampak pada kurangnya kepercayaan diri, kesulitan dalam bersosialisasi, serta menurunnya motivasi belajar. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai profil self-esteem siswa SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat profil self-esteem siswa SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 700 siswa, sedangkan sampel penelitian sebanyak 255 siswa yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling (sampling acak berstrata). Instrumen penelitian berupa angket self-esteem yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Selain itu, dilakukan uji normalitas menggunakan Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan uji homogenitas sebagai uji persyaratan analisis. Sedangkan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif yang meliputi nilai rata-rata, persentase, dan Tingkat Capaian Responden (TCR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil self-esteem siswa SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung berada pada kategori tinggi. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai rata-rata (mean) sebesar 410,96 dengan Tingkat Capaian Responden (TCR) sebesar 84,73%. Sebagian besar siswa berada pada interval skor 409–428 sebanyak 73 siswa (29%), diikuti interval 429–448 sebanyak 56 siswa (22%). Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal dengan nilai signifikansi 0,121 > 0,05, sedangkan uji homogenitas menunjukkan data berasal dari populasi yang homogen. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki penghargaan terhadap diri yang baik, percaya pada kemampuan yang dimiliki, mampu menerima kelebihan dan kekurangan diri, serta mampu menjalin hubungan yang positif dengan lingkungan sekolah.

Hubungan antara harga diri dan pencapaian membaca siswa kelas 11 MAN 3 Agam

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-esteem siswa dan prestasi membaca pada siswa kelas XI MAN 3 Agam. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya perbedaan tingkat self-esteem pada siswa yang memengaruhi kepercayaan diri mereka dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Beberapa siswa kurang percaya diri dalam mengemukakan pendapat, takut melakukan kesalahan ketika membaca teks berbahasa Inggris, dan cenderung pasif selama proses pembelajaran. Di sisi lain, beberapa siswa yang memiliki self-esteem lebih tinggi menunjukkan kepercayaan diri yang lebih baik dan memperoleh prestasi membaca yang lebih tinggi. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini terdiri atas 106 siswa kelas XI MAN 3 Agam. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 55 siswa dari kelas XI F3 dan XI F4 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Dalam pengumpulan data, penelitian ini menggunakan angket self-esteem yang terdiri atas 28 butir pernyataan dan nilai ujian akhir mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris siswa sebagai ukuran prestasi membaca. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Korelasi Peringkat Spearman (Spearman Rank Correlation) dengan bantuan program IBM SPSS Statistics Versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koefisien Korelasi Peringkat Spearman sebesar 0,639, yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang kuat antara self-esteem siswa dan prestasi membaca. Nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,000 0,05). Oleh karena itu, hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Hₐ) diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-esteem siswa dan prestasi membaca pada siswa kelas XI MAN 3 Agam. Artinya, siswa yang memiliki self-esteem lebih tinggi cenderung memiliki prestasi membaca yang lebih baik.

The Correlation between Students' Self-Esteem and Their Academic Achievement at the XI Grade of MTI Pasia

ABSTRACT Nurul Fadhilah, 2318063, “The Correlation between Students’ Self-Esteem and Their Academic Achievement at the XI Grade of MTI Pasia.” A Thesis, English Education Study Program, UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, 2025. This research was conducted since there were some problems related to students’ self-esteem and their academic achievement. Based on the observation and interview at the XI grade of MTI Pasia, there are some students who had high self-esteem, they get low achievement. Next, some students who had low self-esteem, they get high achievement. This research aimed to find out whether there is any correlation between students’ self-esteem and their academic achievement. This research used quantitative approach by using correlational design. The population was 47 students. The researcher used total sampling because the population of the research was less than 100. To collect the data, the researcher used questionnaire and documentation of students’ self-esteem and their English Final Test score which are got from the English teacher. To analyze the data, the researcher used Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) and to test the hypothesis, the researcher used r-test formula and consult the result into r-table with α = 0.05. The finding of the research showed that the coefficient of correlation (r) was 0.423. It means that there was moderate correlation between students’ self-esteem and their academic achievement. The correlation direction also showed that there is positive correlation between both variables. In the other words, based on hypothesis testing, the r-score was 0.423 whereas the r-table on α = 0.05 was 0.243. It means the r-score was bigger than r-table. Hence, Ha accepted and Ho rejected, which stated there is a correlation between students’ self-esteem and their academic achievement. In addition, coefficient of determination of students’ self-esteem has an 17.89% influence on students’ academic achievement.

STUDENTS' LEVEL SELF - ESTEEM IN LEARNING ENGLISH AT THE SECOND GRADE STUDENTS OF SMKS PRASASTI KARANG BERAHI JAMBI IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

The purpose of writing this article is to describe the conditions of self-esteem that exist on the second grade students of SMKS Prasasti Karang Berahi Jambi academic year 2023/2024. The study used descriptive quantitative research. The sampling technique was used purposive sampling with had the sample were 26 students on the second grade. To measure the self- esteem of the students the researcher used questionnaire that consists with 20 items. After got the data of instrument the researcher calculated the data of percentage scale on SPSS 22. The result showed that the percentage of the result was 61.76. Based on the data the researcher concluded that the level of students’ self-esteem in learning English at the second grade students of SMK S Prasasti Karang Berahi Jambi. So the level of students’ self-esteem is on Enough Level.

The Correlation between Students Self-Esteem and Their Speaking Skill at The Eleventh Grade of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas

ABSTRACT Irum Elda Putri: 2316068, “The Correlation between Students’ Self Esteem and Their Speaking Skill at The Eleventh Grade of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas”, A Thesis, State Islamic Institute of Bukittinggi, 2022. The background of this research was there were several problems related to students’ self-esteem. The theories said that the students who have self-esteem, so they will be able in speaking. Conversely, the students who have lack self-esteem, so they tend to avoid opportunity in speaking.Otherwise, the researcher found the problemsrelated to the students’ self-esteem, and those problems were contrary with the theory. There were some students who have lack self-esteem, but they have a good score in speaking.Nevertheless,there were some students capable to speak English even though it was not perfect, but they still have a good score in speaking.As a result, the researcher wanted to find out the correlation between students’ self-esteem and their speaking skill at the eleven grade of SMA ExcellentNurul IKhlas. Thus, this research was done in SMA Excellent Nurul IKhlas. The design of this research was correlational research. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire for measuring students’ self-esteem and a speaking test (retelling a story of the hungry lion and the foolish stag) for measuring students’ speaking skills. The population of this research was all of the eleven grade students of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas in the academic years of 2020/2021 which consists of 4 classes. The sample was 57 students taken by saturation sampling technique. The research was carried out in Desember 2021. To find that the students’ self-esteem and their speaking skill correlate or not, the researcher used the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results of the research show that there is a correlation between students’ self-esteem and their speaking skill at the eleven grade of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas academic years 2020/2021. The researcher found that the coefficient of correlation between students’ self-esteem and their speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas was 0,257. There was a positive correlation and significance. It means that Ho is accepted. Thus, there is a positive correlation between students’ self-esteem and their speaking skill at the eleven grade of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas . Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that self-esteem has a positive contribution to speaking skills. It means that if the students have high self-esteem, they have high skill in speaking. Conversely, if the students have low self-esteem, they have low skill in speaking. In conclusion, this research is done for finding the correlation between students’ self-esteem and their speaking skill at the eleven grade of SMA Excellent Nurul Ikhlas. HUBUNGAN SELF-ESTEEM DENGAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA ANGKATAN 2018 DI SMA N 5 BUKITTINGGI

Yulia Syafrina, NIM.2615113 Judul Skripsi: “Hubungan Self-Esteem dengan Hasil Belajar Siswa Angkatan 2018 di SMAN 5 Bukittinggi”. Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Bukittinggi Tahun 2019. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh fenomena beberapa siswa menampilkan self-esteem yang rendah, beberapa siswa tidak mampu mencapai batas kriteria ketuntasan minimal, ada beberapa siswa yang memiliki nilai yang rendah, siswa memiliki perasaan yang minder, rendah diri, dan tidak mampu mengemukakan pendapat didalam kelas, siswa suka menyendiri, siswa menarik diri dari interaksi sosial, siswa merasa dikucilkan, siswa terbata-bata dalam berbicara, beberapa siswa memiliki self-esteem tinggi namun hasil belajarnya rendah, beberapa siswa memiliki self-esteem rendah namun hasil belajarnya tinggi. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah adakah hubungan self-esteem dengan hasil belajar siswa angkatan 2018 di SMA N 5 Bukittinggi?. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan self-esteem dengan hasil belajar siswa angkatan 2018 di SMA N 5 Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian kuantitatif korelasional yaitusuatu tipe penelitian yang melihat hubungan antara satu atau beberapa ubahan dengan satu atau beberapa ubahan lainnya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa angkatan 2018 di SMA N 5 Bukittinggi yang berjumlah 313 orang. Teknik penentuan sampel adalah menggunakan teknik simple random sampling yaitu pengambilan anggota sampel dari populasi yang dilakukan secara acak tanpa memperhatikan strata yang ada di dalam populasi itu, dengan jumlah sampel 63 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu dengan memberikan inventori self-esteem. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) Versi 22. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa self-esteem siswa Angkatan 2018 tergolong sedang dengan presentase 44.5 %. Hasil belajar siswa angkatan 2018 tergolong sangat baik dengan presentase 85.7 %. Berdasarkan uji korelasi sederhana di peroleh rhitung 0.626 > rtabel 0.248 bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak, artinya terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara self-esteem dengan hasil belajar siswa angkatan 2018 di SMA N 5 Bukittinggi.
