Abstrak
The background of this research is that there are several problems related to students' reading comprehension skills. Theory says that students who have morphological awareness, then they will have good reading comprehension. Conversely, students who do not have morphological awareness, then they do not have a good ability in reading comprehension. In addition, the researcher found problems related to students' reading and other problems that contradict the theory. There are some students who do not have morphological awareness, but they have good reading scores. scores. However, there are some students who have morphological awareness although not too perfect, but they still have good reading scores. Therefore, the researcher felt confused about these problems. As a result, the researcher wanted to find the relationship between morphological awareness and their reading comprehension in class XIMAN 4 AGAM. So, this research was conducted at MAN 4 AGAM. This type of research is correlation research. The instruments of this research is a morphological awareness test to measure students' morphological awareness ability and a reading test to measure students' reading comprehension. The population of this study were all students of class XI MAN 4 AGAM which consisted of 3 classes. Sample of this study were 58 students who were taken through total sampling technique. This research was conducted in June 2024. To to find that the students' reading comprehension and their morphological awareness are related or not, the researcher used spss 23. The result of this study shows that there is a relationship between morphological awareness and their reading comprehension in class XI MAN 4 AGAM. The researcher found that the coefficient of between Morphological Awareness and their reading comprehension is 0.208. The correlation shows a positive and significant sign. It means Ho is accepted. So, there is a positive relationship between students' morphological awareness with their reading comprehension of class XI MAN 4 AGAM. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that morphological awareness has a positive contribution in reading comprehension. That is means, if students have high morphological awareness then they have high reading comprehension. Conversely, if students have low morphological awareness then they have low reading comprehension. In conclusion, this study was conducted to find the relationship between morphological awareness and their reading comprehension in class XI MAN 4 AGAM.
