Abstrak
ABSTRACT TIARA VANI, 2313,032. Students’ Perception of English Clinic of MAN 2 Bukittinggi at The Eleventh Grade Students in Speaking Activity academic year 2017/2018. A Thesis, English Education Department State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Bukittinggi This research is purposed to know the students’ perception of English Clinic in speaking activity. This research is done because the researcher found some problems that influence students’ perception of English Clinic in speaking activity at the eleventh grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Negri 2 Bukittinggi in academic year 2017/2018, they are; students do not have much opportunity in classroom to speak, students do not have confidence to speak up in public and students can not speak fluently and accurately. This research is a quantitative research with decriptive method. The population of this research was students at eleventh grade in Madrasah Aliyah Negri 2 Bukittinggi which consist of 215 the students. The sample was taken 58 students. The sample were taken by using random sampling. Because the population of students eleventh grade in Madrasah Aliyah Negri 2 Bukittinggi more than 100, so the researcher took 25% of all population. The technique of data colection in this research was the questionnaire. This research used close questionnaire. To answer the questionnaire the research provided 5 options. The researcher analyzed the data used percentage for each item. After calculating the data and analyzing them, the researcher has found 3 findings related to the three categories of students’ perception of English Clinic in speaking activity. For the first categories namely basic principles of English Clinic based on S.A.R.D, the finding was the students’ perception was often with mean percentage 34.36%. Second categories namely design role of English Clinic, the finding was the stdents’ perception was often wth the mean percentage 36.21%. the last categories namely benefis in English Clinic the finding was the stdents’ perception was always with the mean percentage 29.31%. In summary, the resarch indicated that the students’ perception of English Clinic in speaking activity at eleventh grade students of MAN 2 Bukittinggi academic year 2017/2018 was good.
