Abstrak
ABSTRACT Rahmiyati, 2315082, “Students’ Perception on Podcast in Teaching Listening at SMK Pembangunan Bukittinggi” a thesis, State Islamic Institute of Bukittinggi, 2020 Podcast has significant roles to motivate the students in listening and to make the atmosphere in learning process more interesting. Podcast motivates learners towards learning English and improves their language skills, especially listening. The aim of this research was to find out of the students’ perception on podcast in teaching listening. The research was due to several problems found in the field; Some of the students were not interested in listening. It can be seen that there were students who preferring to talking, sleeping than following the learning process. The design of this research was a decriptive research with quantitative approach as the method of the research. The sample was collected from 26 students at SMK Pembangunan Bukittinggi which used simple total sampling as the sampling technique of the research. Additionally, the data analysis was done by identifying the respondent’s responses, analyzing the data and making a conclusion. The result showed that the mean score of students’ perception on podcast in teaching listening is 64.53%.It means that the students had good perception in the in external factor. Besides, the mean score of students’ perception in internal 67.15%. It means the students good perception on podcast in teaching listening. The researcher shown positive results from external and internal factor in students’ perception in teaching listening. Keywords: Students’ Perception, the Podcast
