Aziz Rahman 2321068, “A Comparative Study of Students’ Learning Motivation in English Regular Classroom and Extracuricular Activities at Islamic Boarding School Sawah Dangka”. Students’ Learning motivation plays an important role in students’ success in learning English. This study aimed to investigate the level of students’ learning motivation in the regular English classroom and extracurricular English activities at MA Sawah Dangka, as well as to examine whether there is a significant difference in motivation between the two learning contexts. This study employed a quantitative comparative research design. The participants were students of MA Sawah Dangka who were divided into two independent groups: students learning English in the regular classroom and students participating in extracurricular English activities. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. Before conducting hypothesis testing, normality and homogeneity tests were performed. Since the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, an Independent Samples t-Test was used. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that students’ learning motivation in the regular English classroom was at a moderate level, while students’ learning motivation in extracurricular English activities was at a high level. The results of the Independent Samples t-Test revealed a significant difference in students’ learning motivation between the two groups (Sig. 2-tailed 0.05), indicating that students participating in extracurricular English activities demonstrated higher motivation than those in the regular English classroom. In conclusion, extracurricular English activities provide a more motivating learning environment compared to regular classroom instruction.
