Peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris telah menjadi persoalan apakah harus di dukung atau tidak. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu persepsi antara guru dan siswa tentang peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang bervariasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi guru dan siswa tentang peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMAN 3 Bukittinggi. Peneliti ingin meneliti apakah persepsi guru dan siswa baik atau tidak. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan menggunakan angket sebagai instrumen. Peneliti menggunakan cluster random sampling untuk menentukan sampel dalam penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 4 guru bahasa Inggris dan kelas XI IPA 2 dengan berjumlah 36 siswa. Peneliti menyebarkan angket kepada setiap sampel, lalu mengumpulkan datanya. Setelah itu, peneliti mengindentifikasi jawaban dari responden dan menganalisa data, lalu menarik kesimpulan dalam bentuk tingkatan level (kategori). Hasil dari penelitian ini, persepsi guru dan siswa tentang peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah 88,03% dan hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru dan siswa memiliki persepsi yang sangat positif dalam peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Djamil Djambek, 2022. The role of technology in learning English has become a matter of whether it should be supported or not. The problem in this research was that the perception between teachers and students about the role of technology in learning English varied. This research aims to determined how teachers’ and students’ perception about the role of technology in learning English at SMAN 3 Bukittinggi. The researcher wants to examine whether the perception of teachers and students are good or not. The type of research used by the researcher is descriptive quantitative, used a questionnaire as an instrument. The researcher used cluster random sampling to determined the sample in this research. The sample of this research were 4 English teachers and class XI IPA 2 with the total of 36 students. The researcher distributes a questionnaire to each sample, then collected the data. After that, the researcher identified the answers from the respondents and analyzed the data, then drew conclusions in the form of levels (categories). The results of this research, the perception of teachers and students about the role of technology in learning English is 88,03% and the result of this research indicated that teachers and students have very positive perception about the role of technology in learning English.

ABSTRAK RATNI FEBRISA: 2316082, The effectiveness of three step interview technique on students speaking skill at SMKN 1 Palembayan. Skripsi Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IAIN Bukittinggi, 2020/2021. This research was conducted because the researcher found that the teacher had problems teaching speaking. Based on preliminary observations on January 12, 2021, researchers found that students get bored easily while studying, and in response to this the teacher uses the three-step interview technique to make this situation effective. Researchers are interested in seeing how the effectiveness of the three-step interview technique in dealing with problems during speaking learning. The data design of this research is descriptive quantitative. Data obtained from the results of interviews with a teacher who used three-step interviews in teaching speaking and a sample of 29 students. In this sampling, researchers used saturated samples because all populations were sampled. Based on the research results, it was revealed that the three-step interview technique was effectively used when learning speaking. This can be seen from the results of the researcher interview with a teacher who used three-step interviews and was supported by an average student learning outcomes in reading which reached 77.27%. Keywords: three-step interview is a technique that can help students improve their speaking skills in learning English.

ABSTRACT Nemi Diyanti 2312.038 The Efforts of Teacher to Overcome Student’s Difficulties in Learning English at VIII Grade at MTI Pasia. Thesis, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Bukittinggi, 2017 The background of research was based on some problems that were faced by the students in learning English. Those were : lack of vocabulary that made them felt difficult to understand the material, some students felt difficult to wrote the sentence structurally in English, and some students did not require the standard achievement based on curriculum. These problems were found at MTI pasia in Academic Year 2016/2017. Design of the research was descriptive qualitative that was the research which had the purpose to describe the condition or to gain about the teacher effort in overcoming the student’s difficulties in learning English at VIII grade of MTI pasia. The informant of the research was an English teacher and the students of VIII grade. This research used snowball sampling and the data was gotten through interview as an instrument. The finding of the research showed the teacher did some efforts to overcome the student’s difficulties in learning English. The students who had lack of vocabulary, the teacher gave jot note to the student and gave feedback to know the comprehension of the students. For students who got difficulties to write the sentence, the teacher gave daily diary to the students, and played her role during learning process. the teacher also used some strategies to overcome the student’s difficulties in learning English in order to assessed the students comprehension, the teacher gave some assignment and practices to improve the students ability in learning English. Usaha Guru Mengatasi Kesulitan Siswa Dalam Belajar Bahasa Inggris Kelas VIII MTI Pasia. Skripsi, Institute Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Bukittinggi, 2017 Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh beberapa masalah yang di hadapi siswa dalam belajar bahasa inggris. beberapa siswa memiliki masalah: kurangnya kosa kata sehingga mereka tidak memahami materi yang mereka pelajari, beberapa siswa sulit menulis kalimat sesuai struktur kalimat dalam bahasa inggris, beberapa siswa tidak memenuhi standar nilai sesuai kurikulum pendidikan. Masalah ini ditemukan di MTI Pasia pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dalam proses pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan keadaan dan menggali secara luas tentang usaha guru mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam belajar bahasa inggris kelas VIII di MTI Pasia. Informan dari penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa inggris dan siswa kelas VIII, penelitian ini menggunakan snowball sampling. Peneliti mendapatkan data melalui wawancara. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah melakukan beberapa usaha mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam belajar bahasa inggris.siswa yang memiliki kekurangan kosa-kata guru memberikan catatan kecil kepada siswa dan memberikan umpan balik selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Untuk siswa yang sulit menulis kalimat sesuai struktur, guru meyuruh siswa menulis diari dalam bhas inggris, dan guru telah menjalankan perannya selama proses belajar mengajar berlangsung. serta guru juga menggunakan bermacam strategy untuk mengatasi kesulitan siswa belajar bahasa inggris. Untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa, guru memberikan tugas dan latihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa belajar bahasa inggris. namun guru jarang memberikan motivasi kepada siswa saat proses belajar mengajar berlangsung.
