Abstrak
The purpose of this research was to find out how the teacher assess studeni reading comprehension and to identify le advantages of using quizizz as media for assessing students reading comprehension in narrative text at eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Banuhampu. At SMAN 1 Banuhampu, observations and teacher documentation indicated that most eleventh-grade students encountered significant issues with reading comprehension assessments when using Quizizz. Students scores remained still low. Interviews revealed that students preterred direct interaction with teachers and faced challenges related to technological understanding and engagement with narrative texts. Traditional assessments were found to be monotonous, leading, to lower motivation and engagement. The low scores highlighted the need for alternative instructional strategies, such as differentiated instruction and personalized learning plans. Additionally, a lack of enthusiasm for narrative texts was noted, requiring more dynamic and student-centered teaching, methods. In this research, the researcher used a mixed methods approach, starting with qualitative methods and concluding with quantitative methods to integrating both documentation notes and questionnaires to gather comprehensive data. The population comprised 259 students across eight eleventh-grade classes, with a purposive sample of 34 students from class F-1 at SMAN 1 Banuhampu selected based on the English teacher's recommendation. Data collection involved administering documentation notes and conducted questionnaires to assess the application of Quizizz. Documentation notes were conducted by observing teachers and students when using the Quizizz application in reading learning. The questionnaires were administered through direvi interaction of observation and analyzed using a Likeri scale. The findings from the research on using Quizizz as a media for assessing reading comprehension in narrative texts among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Banuhampu revealed several key insights. From the qualitative methods used in documentation notes, it can be concluded that Quizizz significantly enhanced student engagement and motivation in reading comprehension activities through its interactive and gamified approach. Additionally, in quantitative methods by used questionnaire, Quizizz facilitated efficient communication and detailed performance tracking through its integration with Gmail and performance analysis tools. The overall advantages of Quizizz were rated at 82%, indicating a 'very advantage' criteria that got from students.
