To collect data, researchers used instruments in the form of observation checklists and interviews. The researcher observed the teacher in the classroom, after that the researcher interviewed the teacher who the researcher had finished observing while teaching in the classroom. The results of this research are teacher implemented 11 indicators, namely; (1) The teacher pays attention to the diversity of material in books to meet the needs of various types of learners. (2) The teacher reviews the material to be taught in the book as a lesson planning guide. (3) The teacher adapts the material to the applicable curriculum and learning targets. (4) The teacher uses a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, group discussions, games, or projects. (5) The teacher place emphasis on aspects of language skills to be improved: listening, speaking, reading and writing. (6) The teacher asks comprehension questions to ensure that students understand the material being taught. (7) The teacher use formative assessments to monitor student learning progress periodically. (8) The teacher provides constructive feedback on student performance. (9) The teacher repeats concepts that are difficult for students to understand. (10) The teacher carries out a final evaluation based on the material that has been taught. (11) The teacher carrying out evaluations can take the form of written tests, presentations, or other creative projects. Teacher not implemented four indicators, namely; (1) The teacher chooses books to suit students' ability levels and needs, (2) The teacher provides a clear introduction regarding the material to be studied, (3) The teacher uses opening techniques that attract students' attention to the material, (4) The teacher inserts activities that allow students to participate actively, such as role-play, simulation, or role playing. Because there are several indicators that are not carried out by teacher when teaching, this can be a factor causing students' low scores in learning English using textbooks.
