Abstrak
The research was done because the researcher found several problems in the field. The first problem was the English teachers should used an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” without enriched it from others materials. Second, the English teachers did not analyze an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” well. The aim of this research is to find out the qualification of an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” for the first grade students of Senior high school whether it fulfill the curriculum 2013 criteria. The design of this research was descriptive quantitative. The population of this research was an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” that used for the first grade students of senior high school. The sample in this research was taken an English textbook for the first semester. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling, because the population in this research is English textbook for the first grade students of senior high school, so researcher took some chapters for the first semester. The technique of data collection in this research was documentation of an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris”. The second, researcher used table of checklist that adapted from Marianne Celce – Murcia table. The researcher find out the qualification of English textbook whether it fulfiil the 2013 curriculum criteria. The result of this research indicated that an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” gained score 89% toward the criteria of the methodological and pedagogical guidance. It means that “Bahasa Inggris”was categorized as excellent. In terms of the supplementary of exercises, the textbook gained score 99%. It means that the textbook was categorized as excellent. The textbook gained score 99% in terms the exercises and activities. This means that “Bahasa Inggris” was categorized as excellent. In conclusion, in the qualification of an English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” was score 96%. It means that the textbook was categorized as excellent. Nevertheless, there some weaknesses of this textbook. The first is per lesson which gained score 0%. The next is in aural skills which gained 0%. And the last is meaningful communication which gained score 36%. So, English teacher can use this textbook yet need a lot of improvements.
