Abstrak
This research is motivated by the problems experienced by student teachers when they teach practice at school. That problem is related to how well they master teaching skills and the competence of a teacher when undergoing micro-teaching courses. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyse how student teacher skills are in micro teaching courses. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The informants in this study were 11 student teacher’s 6th-semester students in the English Language Education department and also lecturers of micro-teaching courses in the same study program. The data in this study are primary data obtained from observations. The results of the data obtained regarding student teacher skills in micro teaching courses show that overall, the teaching skills possessed by student teachers have been mastered very well. Student teachers have implemented teaching skills well in micro teaching courses such as opening and closing skills, explanation skills, questioning skills, reinforcement skills, variation skills, and group discussion guiding skills, classroom management skills.
