Abstrak
This research was due to discovering the Influences of Social Factors on Students’ Achievement of Learning English at the Seventh Grade of MTs N 6 Agam. It has been done at Seventh Grade of MTs N 6 Agam. the reseacher found several problems that were faced by students of the Seventh Grade of MTs N 6 Agam. They were first not all students has good desire to learn English subject. Second was students’ achievements score is varied in English subject. The last was motivation factors also affect toward students’ achievement. Students who are have good motivation, they are more confident to speak English than students who are less able. From the problems, the researcher would like to find out find out how are the social factors influences the students’ achievement of learning English at the Seventh Grade of MTs N 6 Agam. The design of this research was a descriptive qualitative research design. The data was gotten through interview. The researcher did interview in MTs N 6 Agam at class VII1 – VII4. There were 123 students on that class and researcher took 20% of all of the students to interview. In this research, the researcher used random sampling. The data were analyzed by using model of Sugiono’ theory. First data Collection: the researcher collected the data through interviews to identified kinds of the social factors. Second is data reduction, the researcher resumes the data and focus on the research aspects and unnecessary aspects were reduced by researcher. Third is data display, the researcher made the result of the research consisted kind of the social factors. The last is conclusion: the researcher concluded the finding based on kind of the social factors influences the students’ Students’ Achievement of Learning English at the Seventh Grade of MTs N 6 Agam. Based on the result of finding of the research showed that the social factors influences the students’ achievement of learning English at the seventh grade of MTs N 6 Agam, Based on the finding it could be seen that there were some social factors influences students’ English Learning such as first was gender, in learning English process the students’ women is prefer English than students’ men, the students’ women more active in learning english. Third was motivation, the students’ statement showed that their interesting about English lesson depend on the materials given by the teacher. The fourth was attitude, the students practiced English just in the English class. The last was educational level parents. The level of education of the students' parents varies, but the parents provide support in learning English. It can be concluded there were some social factor influences students’ English Learning such as gender, social class, motivation, attitude and educational level of parents.
