Abstrak
In this study researcher found some problems that faced by students of class XI in MAS TI koto Tinggi. The problems were: firstly, there was negative attitude of students at secondly grade toward English language learning. Secondly, the outcome of students in English language learning was varied, such as high, moderate, and low. Thirdly, it was unknown whether there was a relationship between students ' attitudes in learning and their learning outcome. The study aimed to find out: (1) The category of student learning attitudes towards learning English (positive or negative), (2) To know the outcome of students in learning English, (3) To know whether there was a relationship between learning attitudes toward the student's value in learning English. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative. The Sample in this study was all grade 11 students at MTI Koto Tinggi in academic year of 2019/2020. Sampling technique that was used in this research was saturation sampling. The data collection techniques in this study were using questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis technique was using SPSS version 20 program. There were three discoveries found in this study. The first being the student's attitude towards English language learning, the results showed that most of the XI-grade students ' attitudes towards learning English were positive with the value of 3.67. Second the student value category in learning English, The average value obtained by students in English: Under the KKM of 20%, the KKM limit of 10%, above the KKM to 70%, so it can be concluded that the value of students towards English language learning was in high category. Third the relationship between students ' learning attitudes toward the value gained in English learning, the results were known that R-Count (0643) was greater than R-table (0361). It can be concluded that there was a relationship between student learning attitudes toward student grades. Keywords: Attitude, Students’ Grade in English, Correlation
