Abstrak
ABSTRACT Rahimus, 2134.069, Thesis, The Authentic Assessment to Measure Students’ English Writing Skill at SMA N 1 Kec. Akabiluru, State Islamic Institute Bukittinggi (IAIN), 2019. This research aimed find out authentic assessments to measure students' writing skill in SMA N 1 Kec.Akabiluru. Relating to how the teacher in implementation authentic assessment to measure students' writing abilities. Based on preliminary observation, the researcher found that the assessment conducted by the teacher was less effective. Because authentic assessment takes a long time, teachers feel burdened in carrying out authentic assessment, because they have to describe the assessment of students in each subject. This research aimed to find out how the application of teachers in authentic assessment to measure the ability to write students in eleventh grade, in English subjects at SMAN 1 Kec. Akabiluru The form of this research is descriptive qualitative. The informant of this research is the eleventh grade English teacher at SMAN 1 Kec. Akabiluru Meanwhile, data collection techniques through observation and interview. The results of the analysis show that in general three types of authentic assessment in measuring students' writing skill have been applied by teachers in SMA N 1 Kec. Akabiluru. The types of authentic assessment used by teachers are performance assessment, project assessment and portfolio assessment. While the application of authentic assessment there are three processes that have been implemented by teachers by planning, implementation, and student learning outcomes.
