Abstrak
The purpose of this study was to analyze the communication process of the modernization of the Nagari Batu-Taba community through social media amid the co-19 pandemic. This research uses the modernization theory of W.W Rostow. This research method uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological study approach. Where this approach seeks to understand and dissect the meaning of an event and how the communication process of the Nagari Batu Taba community in a co-19 pandemic condition with the existence of social distancing regulations by the government. The research subjects of the Nagari Batu Taba community of 7 (seven) people were found through incidental sampling. Data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that most people make Social Media as a medium of communication in carrying out all activities that can normally be done without intermediaries, but because the Covid-19 pandemic requires communication through Social Media.
