Teaching and learning process using mobile applications
becomes one of the alternative tools to substitute face-to-face learning
during Pandemic COVID-19. The lecture process during the period
has been experienced since March 2020 until the end of the even
semester of the academic year 2019/2020. There were various
obstacles felt by lecturers and students in the courses. Under normal
conditions, learning Arabic as a foreign language is still faced with
various problems. Since there are no specific studies in this issue that
have been conducted by experts for the Indonesian context, we are
interested to identify the perception of students and lecturers on the
quality of the Arabic teaching and learning process. This research

uses qualitative method where the sources of data are students and
lecturers of Arabic language education study program Faculty of
Islamic Studies, Muhammadiyah University of West Sumatra. The
data collection was taken from an interview by phone. The finding
showed that the student's and lecturers' perceptions of the quality of
the online learning process are negative. Then, students’ and
lecturers' perceptions of the quality of online Arabic learning outcomes
are negative.

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh penelusuran alumni, dimana tracer alumni merupakan alat untuk memperoleh data mengenai alumni yang dibutuhkan bagi pengembangan SMK. Namun program penelusuran tersebut belum sepenuhnya dilaksanakan oleh SMK Pembangunan Bukittinggi. Sehingga data mengenai alumni sulit didapat dan hal ini tentunya mempersulit proses evaluasi program studi dan tidak adanya data yang mendukung sebagai bahan pertimbangan untuk kebijakan untuk pengembangan program studi ke depan. Tracer alumni tidak hanya berguna bagi para siswa tetapi juga untuk pihak sekolah karena dapat mengumpulkan data-data akurat yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan kompetensi sekolah dan sebagai bahan evaluasi terhadap sistem yang ada. Serta informasi yang berasal dari umpan balik alumni yang dapat dipergunakan untuk perbaikan kurikulum, kualitas pelayanan institusi terutama pengisian kuisioner yang harus diisi oleh alumni yang merupakan salah satu syarat penunjang nilai akreditasi. Tujuan penelitian yang penulis lakukan ini untuk merancang tracer alumni berbasis mobile application. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian Research and Development (R&D), yaitu metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu dan menguji keefektifan produk tersebut. Jenis penelitian R&D yang digunakan penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4D yaitu, define, design, development, and disseminate, dengan model pengembangan sistem SDLC (System Development Life Cycle), dengan model waterfall. Serta uji produk terdiri dari uji validitas, uji praktikalitas dan uji efektifitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penulis berhasil membuat aplikasi e-tracer alumni berbasis mobile application di SMK Pembangunan Bukittinggi. Produk yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini dapat digunakan oleh guru yang menangani alumni(admin) dan alumni(user). Sedangkan hasil validasi yang diperoleh dari 3 orang validator diperoleh 0,74 yang dinyatakan valid, hasil praktikalitas yang diperoleh dari 3 orang penguji diperoleh 0,92 yang dinyatakan sangat praktis, dan hasil efektifitas diperoleh dari 3 orang alumni diperoleh 93 yang dinyatakan sangat efektif.
