ABSTRACT Dilla Kurnia Dewi (2319025). “The Implementation of Pop-Up Media for Teaching English Vocabulary at Sd N 02 Koto Baru” This study highlights that vocabulary mastery serves as the fundamental basis in learning English. However, facts in the field show that many elementary school students encounter difficulties in understanding and remembering new vocabulary due to learning processes that tend to be abstract and less engaging. Pop-Up media, as a three-dimensional visual aid, is considered a solution to overcome such problems by creating more concrete and enjoyable learning experiences. This study aims to describe how the teacher implements Pop-Up media in teaching vocabulary and identify obstacles encountered during the implementation at Class 4 SD N 02 Koto Baru. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research design. Data collection was carried out through direct observation in two meetings on February 24 and 26, 2026, in-depth interviews with the teacher, Mrs. Yulia Astri, on February 17, 2026, consisting of 18 questions, and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results revealed that the teacher implemented Pop-Up media systematically through three stages: pre-teaching, while-teaching, and post-teaching. This implementation was in accordance with learning theories and successfully increased students’ enthusiasm and understanding. On the other hand, obstacles were found regarding media production, classroom management, and evaluation; however, these were overcome through adaptive strategies applied by the teacher. It is concluded that Pop-Up media is highly effective and relevant even in the modern technological era, as it provides real sensory experiences that cannot be replaced by digital media.
