Abstrak
The background of this research is the Tradition of Turun Mandi (Bathing Ritual) After Childbirth in the Perspective of Maqashid Syariah in Nagari Siaro-aro, Kecamatan IX Koto Sungai Lasi, Kabupaten Solok. This research was conducted due to the existence of a bathing ritual tradition in Nagari Siaro-aro, which is carried out by the community to welcome the birth of a child. This tradition is prioritized over Islamic law, where the community prioritizes the implementation of Turun Mandi over Aqiqah. Based on this, the researcher formulates the problem in this study, namely how the tradition of Turun Mandi is carried out in Nagari Siaro-aro and how the perspective of Maqashid Syariah views this tradition. In this study, the researcher conducted field research using qualitative descriptive methods, which involved collecting, organizing, analyzing, and explaining data obtained from an understanding of a problem by analyzing the problem to provide in-depth understanding. The data collection method used was interviews with community members, such as community leaders, customary leaders, religious leaders, and residents of Nagari Siaro-aro. To complement this research, the researcher also used book sources, scientific works, and others. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the tradition of Turun Mandi in Nagari Siaro-aro contains benefits for children, families, and communities, but these benefits do not fall under the category of ad-dharuriyyat (necessities) or al-hajiyyat (needs), but rather at-tahsiniyyat (complementary benefits), which means they are complementary and have several benefits, including the meaning of mu'amalah (mutual benefit), namely mutual help, tolerance, and responsibility. The tradition of Turun Mandi is in line with Islamic law and the objectives of Islamic law, and since this tradition exists in Muslim communities and contains benefits or goodness felt by the community, it will become 'urf shahih (valid custom).
