Tri Wahyuni (2320099) (2025) "The Effect of Visual Scaffolding Strategy Towards Students' Vocabulary Mastery at the Fifth Grade of SDN 087981 Sibolga.". Thesis submitted to the English Education Study Program at the State Islamic University of Syekh M. Djamil Djambek of Bukittinggi. This research was based on some problems that were found in the field related to the process of learning English. The objective of this study was to ascertain the efficacy of a visual scaffolding strategy in facilitating the acquisition of English vocabulary in class five at SDN 087981 Sibolga. The study adopted a pre-experimental design, incorporating a pre-test and a post-test administered to a single group. The research instrument employed a written test comprising 20 questions. The population comprised 21 students in the fifth grade at SDN 087981 Sibolga, and the study was conducted over six meetings: one for the pre-test, four for the treatment, and one for the post-test. The sample comprised 21 students from class 5B at SDN 087981 Sibolga. The researcher employed a descriptive quantitative technique to analyze the results of the pre-test and post-test. The findings revealed that the students' mean score on the pre-test was 54.76, and their score on the post-test was 85.75, indicating an improvement of 30.99 points. This finding indicates a substantial enhancement in students' vocabulary mastery following the implementation of the Visual Scaffolding Strategy. The post-test percentage score was higher than the pre-test percentage score, and the t-test value was greater than the t-table value (8.40 > 4.70). The findings of the research study indicated that the implementation of the Visual Scaffolding Strategy was indeed effective in fostering students' vocabulary mastery. This outcome serves to reject the null hypothesis and substantiate the alternative hypothesis, thereby substantiating the claim that the Visual Scaffolding Strategy is a viable tool for enhancing students' vocabulary mastery.
