Wahyudha, 2320054. “The Effect of Using Read Aloud Plus Strategy Towards Students’ Reading Comprehension at The Eleventh Grade of SMKN 1 Guguk 50 Kota.” A thesis, State Islamic University Of Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. This study intends to investigate the effect of the read aloud plus strategy on the reading comprehension of eleventh-grade students at SMKN 1 Guguk. This research was conducted in response to many difficulties related to reading. Students struggle to comprehend the text, encounter difficulties in tasks such as summarizing and recognizing the main concept, and teachers continue to employ conventional strategies in reading instruction. This study used a quasi-experimental design featuring a pre-test prior to treatment and a post-test subsequent to treatment at the conclusion of the meeting. The study comprised a total population of 127 students. The sampling method employed was purposive sampling. The experimental group comprised 36 students, while the control group consisted of 35 students. The implemented strategy was the read-aloud plus strategy. Consequently, this study included a pre-test, treatment, and post-test. This research employed the SPSS 20 software for data analysis. The findings of this study indicated a rise in the scores of students employing the read aloud plus practice in comparison to those in classes that did not implement this strategy. The data analysis results indicated that the experimental class had an average score of 88.27, while the control class had an average score of 66.27. The data analysis results indicate that the Mann-Whitney score is less than 0.05 (0.000 0.05). The read aloud plus strategy has demonstrated success in enhancing students’ reading comprehension.
