This research investigates the effect of Wordwall.net on vocabulary mastery among second-grade students at MAN 1 Bukittinggi. Vocabulary proficiency is foundational in language learning, influencing skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Despite English being compulsory, many students find it challenging to master due to difficulties in vocabulary acquisition and the need for innovative teaching approaches. The research aims to determine that Wordwall.net enhances students' vocabulary acquisition compared to traditional methods. Research questions explore the significance of Wordwall.net's effect, the differences between using and not using Wordwall.net and its comparative effectiveness with current teaching media. The research used an experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically using a static group comparison. The experimental group used Wordwall.net as a web-based learning media, while the control group did not. This research method aimed to establish causal relationships between the use of Wordwall.net and improvements in students' vocabulary acquisition. By comparing the performance of both groups through pre-test and post-test assessments, the research aimed to provide empirical evidence on the effectiveness of Wordwall.net in enhancing vocabulary learning outcomes among second-grade students at MAN 1 Bukittinggi. The findings revealed that the use of Wordwall.net significantly enhanced students' vocabulary mastery compared to traditional teaching methods. Students exposed to Wordwall.net demonstrated higher engagement and retention of vocabulary, as evidenced by post-test scores. This indicated the potential of interactive web-based media like Wordwall.net in optimizing language learning outcomes. The further research could delve deeper into specific media within Wordwall.net that were most effective for vocabulary acquisition, providing insights for educators aiming to enhance language teaching methodologies.
