Nurul Aini Savitri: 2319.091. "An Analysis of Students’ Participation In Process Of English Teaching And Learning By Using Think-Pair-Share At Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Talang Kelapa". A Thesis, State Islamic University of Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, 2024. Student participation is an important thing that must be considered in learning, especially student participation in learning a foreign language such as English. In order to create student participation in English learning, teachers must be able to do many things so that student participation can be carried out during the learning process. The teachers can use various techniques in teaching, one of which is using the think-pair-share technique. The think-pair-share technique itself is a type of cooperative learning that can build interaction between students in learning activities. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze and describe how students participate in the process of English teaching and learning by using think-pair-share. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative research design. The researcher conducted research at SMA N 1 Talang Kelapa with informants from XI IPS 1 students which consisted of 32 students. In order to collect the data, the researcher used an observation sheet with an observation checklist type. The researcher used qualitative descriptive analysis techniques with three steps, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing of verifying conclusion. Based on the findings, researchers concluded that students tended not to participate actively and were more silent when participating in English language learning when teachers used think-pair-share in teaching English. Students do not participate enough in the thinking and sharing steps. However, more participated in the pairing step. This means think-pair-share can build student interaction in learning activities in this research, especially in the pairing step.
