"The Effect of using Story Face Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension in Narrartive Text at 9th Grade of MTs Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang".a thesis, English Education Study Program. UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, 2023. Reading is one of the skill in language. Reading English material is one of the most difficult skills for students in indonesia. Relate to the students difficulty, the teacher must have a strategy to helps them in reading comprehension and there are many strategies can be used, one of them is the story face strategy. At MTs Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang the teacher used discovery method in learning English. To solve the difficulties faced by students in reading through conducting the researcher used story face toward students’ reading comprehension on narrative text. The purpose of this research were to know there was a significant difference by using story face toward students reading comprehension on narrative text. This research usedquantitative method. The type of the research was experiment. The researcher chose the class IX (19 students) as the experimental class. The sample was selected by using simple random sampling technique,this method is done if the data is considered homogeneous. The data was got through pre-test and post-test to experimentalclass. To analyzed the data, the researcher used the normality by using lilieffors test and homogeneity test by using F test and to rest the hypothesis the researcher used t-test formula and consulted the result into t-table with level significant α=0.05. The result of this research showed that there was the effect of story face toward students’ reading comprehensionon narrative text at nineth grade of MTs Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang. It is showed by the result that has presented byusing statistical of paired sample test SPSS. Thecriteria of simple paired test; if the significancy of test 0,05 then the H0 is refused and Ha is accepted, but if the significancy test > 0,05 then the Ha is refused ad H0 is accepted. According to the research which the significancy test was 0,00 0,05, it meant that Ha is accepted. Hence, the hypothesis of Ha was there is significant effect of story face toward students’ reading comprehensionon narrative text at MTs Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang. In summary, this research is done to find the effect of story face toward students’ reading comprehensionon narrative text at nineth grade of MTs Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang.
