Abstrak
ABSTRACT Nur Eliya Rahmah. 2314.096: Study on Creative Thinking in English Writing Analytical Exposition Text at The Eleventh of Science Grade of MAN 5 Pasaman Barat This research was conducted based on the fact that there are still many students who have difficulties for developing their ideas and using their imagination in writing Analytical Exposition texts. So that their writing tends to look stiff and does not develop with new ideas also tends to follow the topics that have been given. This phenomenon is inversely proportional to the Creative Thinking Skills that students must have in writing English texts, especially Analytical Exposition. Students who have a high level of Creative Thinking will explain the results of their writing with new ideas that will make it easier for them to write. These study was done as the purpose to know the level of students’ creative thinking ability in writing analytical exposition text. The design of the research was a descriptive quantitative research. The populations of this research were students the eleventh of science grade that consist of 21 students. This research used the saturated sampling technique because all of the members of population were the sample. To collect the data, researcher used the writing test of analytical exposition text to find out the level of students’ creative thinking ability in writing. The data collected was analyzed using rubric scoring of creative thinking in adapted from Munandar Utami. The average score that the students get were 51. As follow In fluency only two students can produce more than 200 words, seven students can produce around 150-199 words, nine students can produce 100-149 words, one students can produce 50-99 words and two students just can produce words less than 50. In flexibility almost all of the students have been able to show ability at this point, but in part of giving fantasy no one of the students can show it in their writing,. In originality only a half of the students can show originality in the theme, but each of the students already has their own style in writing the theme. In elaboration only 17 students can do that while writing a text The finding of this research can be concluded that the level of students’ creative thinking ability in writing Analytical Exposition text is emerging, which means that the students’ ratings are at or near the average (in relation to local comparison) and may be above average for a specific task.
