ABSTRACT REZQI SUCI PUTRI, 2314,020. The Effect of Using Project-Based Learning Model Toward Students’ Creativity in Learning Descriptive Text in Class VII at SMPN 6 Bukittinggi. A Thesis, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Bukittinggi, 2019. This study aims to find the effect of using the PBL model on students' creativity in learning Descriptive Text. This research has been conducted in SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi because it cannot be denied that there is still a lot of creativity in the school students which is classified as low, especially in learning descriptive text. Most of the students cannot show creativity in learning descriptive text because most student curiosity about something very low. Students are mostly busy with activities not related to learning descriptive text. Students rarely pay attention to the teacher. Many students who are not confident in giving questions or responses and more often chatting with friends. Students are less responsible for the assignments the teacher has given and more often cheat. Students are less sensitive to the expression and response of the teacher. So, the teacher has difficulty controlling students when learning descriptive text. But this is caused by internal and external factors that exist within the students themselves. Internal factors are factors that come from oneself like fear, no confidence, less effort, and chaos in thinking. While the external factors is a factors that comes from outside the self-environment, school or community. Then the teacher still uses the model which is usually done like the steps of teaching that are always lecturing and giving assignments. As a result, only a few students can show their creativity in classroom learning activities. The type of research used is experimental research. The researcher used pre-experimental research using a one shot case study research design. one shot case study is a research design consisting of one group given treatment/ treatment which then observes these results . The population of this study was seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi which 144 students, while the sample 26 students. The researcher used a random sampling technique to determine the sample of this study. The ways to obtain scores on student creativity are done by assessing the projects students make using the assessment sheet. To analyze the data, researchers used a normality test using the Lilliefors test without using the homogeneity test. Whereas to test the hypothesis, researchers use the one test average and consult the results with a table of degrees (∝) = 0.05 (5%) From the results of research and calculation of project appraisal students from the experimental class calculations that have been obtained x ̅ = 83.09. After the final calculation using the t-test, an average of tcount = 5.9423 is obtained. Then consulted to the price of t table at the real level of 0.05 (5%), with degrees of freedom (n-1) 26-1 = 25, then the price of L tab = 0.173 > Lo = 0.1600. Because Ltab > Lo, this shows that the data is normally distributed. So, t test is in the area of rejection of Ho. Thus t table > t test then Ho's hypothesis is rejected and Ha's hypothesis is accepted, so that it can be interpreted that the project-based learning model influences the creativity of Grade VII 1 students in SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi with an average project value of more than 80.
