Abstrak
ABSTRACT Nurfa Dila: 2314,063 "An Analysis of the Translation Results of Google Translation from English to Indonesian". Thesis, English Education Section Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training State Islamic Institute of Bukittinggi (IAIN) 2018/2019. This research was conducted because google translation is often used in translating text from English into Indonesian, while, as machine translator, google translation has limitations in translating text. Based on preliminary research, researcher found a problem, google translation did distortions. Based on this phenomenon, researchers conducted a study to find out the kind of distortions that was most found from the results of google translation from English to Indonesian. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data is primary data, technique of data collection is documentation of the results of translations from English to Indonesian. The result of the research showed that translation result from google translation were accurate 52 sentences, omission 5 sentences, addition 8 sentences, different meaning 53 sentences and zero meaning 22 sentences. So, it can be concluded that the types of distortions that most found of google translation is different meaning. Keywords: Translation, Google translation
