ABSTRACT Nurlaili. 2313.132. Classroom Management Strategies in Large Class Used by English Teacher at The Eleventh Grade Majoring in Science 3 of MAN Koto Baru Padang Panjang. State Islamic Institute. Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty, English Departmen Education, 2018. There were some problem about classroom management straregies in large class used by english teacher found in the field. The problem was the teacher felt difficult to manage large class. The strategies used by the teacher in managing the class was not effective. Lack of the students participation in the class. The purpose of this research was to know classroom management strategies in large class used by English teacher at the eleventh grade majoring in science 3 of MAN Koto Baru Padang Panjang. This research design was descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at the eleventh grade majoring in science 3 of MAN Koto Baru Padang Panjang. There was an English teacher who taught at eleventh grade. Sample of this research is purposive sampling. The instrumentation of this research were observation, interview, and documentation. The observation was conducted by using observation sheet, and interview was conducted for the English teacher. After that, the documentation were take photos and video recorder in learning activity. After analyzed the data, it was found that the English teacher used various strategies in managing large class at the eleventh grade majoring in science 3. Teacher did some strategies from expert. The researcher concluded that classroom management strategies in large class used by English teacher at the eleventh grade maring in science 3 of MAN Koto Baru Padang Panjang that was focus on make students feel important, build good relationship with the student, arrange classroom contract with students, make students sure that teacher know all of the students, create system for managing material efficiently, such as using video, image, poster,etc, take a long hard look at the classroom such as when students are doing the task, the teacher looks the whole students do their work
