ABSTRACT Rita Rahmayani, NIM. 201.15.024, Thesis Title: "Comparison Between Learning Model Cooperative Learning Stad With Conventional Learning on Student Learning Results of PAI of Class XI Students at Smk Negeri 1 Matur" This study is based on the low learning outcomes of students in the subjects of PAI, in School SMK Negeri 1 Matur XI Class Kec. Matur Kab. Agam The last three years did not reach the Minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria (KKM). As for the alleged causes include: from the students themselves lack of spirit of learning, less active in learning. The objectives of this study were to: (1) find out whether the mean value of experimental class learning outcomes using STAD type cooperative method in learning is greater than the mean value of control class learning outcomes using conventional methods; (2) to know whether learning with STAD type cooperative method in the experimental class has a significant effect on student learning outcomes compared with the use of conventional methods in the control class. The number of students consists of fifty four (40) people. Each class consists of 20 students. Data obtained from observation and interview. Prior to the learning process, the first step is to conduct pre-test to equalize the experiment class and control class. The design of this study is true-experimental designs with pretest posttest equivalent group design (pretest post control group design). The population of this study is the students of class XI SMK Negeri 1 Matur. Sample selection method used is cluster sampling method, the sample consists of two classes namely class XI AP1 as experimental class and class XI AP2 as control class. The data collection technique used is by observation and measurement using test. The instrument validity test is performed by the experts judgment and for the test questions using the item analysis by calculating the level of difficulty and the power of the dissemination. Furthermore, reliability test is performed. The data analysis technique for hypothesis testing uses the t test variance-polled variance two independent samples. The results showed that: (1) The experimental class using the STAD method had a higher average learning result value of 84.25 when compared to the control class using the conventional method where the average learning result value was only 44.00 and (2) Learning with STAD type cooperative method gives significant effect to student learning result compared with the use of conventional methods. This can be seen from the results of hypothesis testing using the test-t polled variance on the student posttest that shows that the tcount of 22.72 and 22.05 ttable with a significant level of 0.05, because thitung> ttabel then Ha accepted.
