Abstrak
ABSTRACT Eka Nofrianti, 2313.010. The Comparative Study Between Introvert and Extrovert Students in Writing Score at the First Grade of SMAN 1 Matur Academic Year 2016/2017. A Thesis, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Bukittinggi, 2017. This research was conducted at the first grade students of SMAN 1 Matur due to some problems were found in the field that the entire first grade students have studied about writing especially about descriptive text; however, not all of the students got high mark because the class was dominated by certain students, while other students were passive in learning process in the classroom, some students who were active in the classroom did not always get high mark, and some students who were passive in the classroom did not always get low mark in writing. Indeed, those were the reasons why the researcher needed to conduct this research to discover whether introvert students got higher achievement than extrovert students. This research was comparative quantitative research. The data were collected by using questionnaire and writing test. The population of this research was all of the first grade students of SMAN 1 Matur. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to determine the sample with the consideration that the researcher needed two groups of sample which were introvert and extrovert group. The sample was 28 respondents in academic year 2016/2017. To analyze the data, the researcher found the calculation of statement that indicated the personality of the students to identify whether the students had introvert personality or extrovert personality. After the researcher analyzed the data, it can be concluded that there was no significant difference in writing achievement between introvert and extrovert students. It was proven by testing the hypothesis that the result of t-obtained was 0.78 and it was lower than t-table which was 2.056. It means that Ha was rejected and Ho was accepted.
