Teknologi Informasi (TI) atau Information technology (IT) adalah istilah umum untuk teknologi apa pun yang membantu manusia dalam membuat, mengubah, menyimpan, mengomunikasikan dan menyebarkan informasi. Pada Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Informatika dan Komputer (PTIK) di IAIN Bukittinggi terdapat salah satu mata kuliah Pengantar Teknologi Informasi untuk mahasiswa semester 1. Pada mata kuliah ini mahasiswa diberikan pengetahuan dasar mengenai teknologi informasi, dan terdapat materi hitungan berupa konversi sistem bilangan biner, decimal, hexadecimal dan octal.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan aplikasi yang dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mempelajari materi pada Mata Kuliah Pengantar Teknologi Informasi, serta dapat mempermudah mahasiswa dalam mengkonversi sistem bilangan melalui Smartphone android, serta dilengkapi dengan video sebagai simulasi dan penguat materi untuk penunjang pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian yang penulis gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Research and Development) atau R&D yaitu suatu proses atau langkah-langkah untuk mengembangkan suatu produk baru, atau menyempurnakan produk yang telah ada, yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Jenis R&D yang penulis gunakan yaitu versi ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate), dan model pengembangan sistem yang diadopsi dari SDLC( System Developoment Life Cycle) yaitu model Incremental. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu berupa Aplikasi Smart IT untuk platform Android dalam bentuk file *.APK dengan ukuran file 4,3 MB yang dapat diinstall langsung di Smartphone dengan sistem operasi Android. Hasil uji validitas dari lima orang expert manunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dinyatakan sangat valid dengan nilai akhir 95. Sementara hasil uji praktikalitas dari praktisi manunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dinyatakan sangat praktis dengan nilai akhir 97. Hasil uji efektifitas dari 11 orang mahasiswa. menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dinyatakan sangat efektif dengan nilai akhir 98. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi yang dihasilkan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh mahasiswa dalam mempelajari Mata Kuliah Pengantar Teknologi Informasi.

Sharia Law and the Arab Oil Bust

The delayed development of the Islamic world, in defiance of the formulaic approaches long favored by economists, suggests that the traditional Sharia and Islamic values and principles are at least partially responsible for the region s persistent backwardness. By analyzing the impact of the legal regime of the Sharia on Saudi Arabia during the Arab Oil Bust of the 1980s, this thesis concludes that Islamic social values and the Sharia s de facto role as an uncodified pre-emptive Arab common law implemented with high regard to precedent by ulama with extraordinary power of judicial review had the effect of accentuating the effects of the Oil Bust, making the theory of the Petrocurse a subset of a larger Cost of Being Muslim. On the other hand, the author concludes that not only is the Sharia not constrained by its nature to playing a deleterious economic role, but that it has broad commercial application, both domestically and internationally, and a new generation of more flexible Muslim economists, lawyers, and financial theorists have pointed the way toward a possible comprehensive modern adaptation of Islamic laws and principles.

Implementation of the American School Counseling Association National Model

The researcher examined school counselors' perceptions of the readiness level of school districts in Mississippi to implement the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model. The researcher also addressed certain school and counselor characteristics that could be predictors of this level of readiness. The predictor variables included grade level of counselor's school (elementary, middle, high school/vocational), number of years of counseling experience, years of experience as a classroom teacher, student-to-counselor ratio, age, race, and level of education (M.S., Ed. S., Ph. D.). The dependent variable was the school counselor's perceived level of readiness of the school district based on their overall scores on the ASCA National Model District Readiness Survey. The researcher also examined the perceived readiness level of school districts in the State of Mississippi in each of the 7 ASCA National Model readiness indicators (i. e., community support, leadership, guidance curriculum, school counselors' beliefs and attitudes, school counselors' skills, district resources, and staffing/time use). Based on mean scores for the seven readiness indicators on the ASCA National Model District Readiness Survey, school counselors perceived two indicators as being ready to implement the ASCA National Model: School Counselors' Beliefs and Attitudes and School Counselors' Skills. School counselors perceived three indicators as being minimally ready: Community Support, Leadership, and Guidance Curriculum. School counselors perceived two indicators as being not ready to implement the ASCA National Model: District Resources and Staffing/Time Use. Based on school counselor perceptions, the "overall" readiness level of Mississippi school districts to implement the ASCA National Model is a minimal level of readiness. For the dependent variable overall readiness level, student-to-counselor ratio and gender were the most influential predictor variables. Female school counselors perceived their school districts as being more ready to implement the ASCA National Model than male school counselors. Also, schools with lower student-to-counselor ratios perceived their school districts as more ready to implement the ASCA National Model than schools with higher student-to-counselor ratios.
