Abstrak
Nurazizah Febriani, 2313.131. The Effect of Using EGRA Technique Toward students’ Grammar Matery at the First Grade of MTsN Padang Tarab in Academic Years 2016/2017. A Thesis, State Islamic Institute of Bukittinggi (IAIN), 2017. This research was aimed to discover the effect of using EGRA technique toward students’ grammar mastery at the first grade of MTsN Padang Tarab. It cannot be denied that grammar is also help students in communicating effectively. However, they still got some problems in learning grammar; the students still confused to identify tense rule in a sentence and the teacher just used traditional technique. Thus, the researcher was interested in applying EGRA technique in teaching grammar. This research used quantitative approach with experimental research. The researcher used grammar test to collect the data about students’ grammar mastery. In this research the topic of this research was simple present tense. The population of this research was the first grade there are 110 people, sample of this research they were 12 and 14. They were 25 students in the 12 that were treade as experimental class who were thread by using EGRA technique. Besides, in the 14 there were as control class who were treade by using traditional technique. In order to analyze the data, using F test. And also used t-test formula to test the hypothesis table with α=0.05. From the result of accounting the pre-test and post-test of the experimental class, it was found that tobtained was higher tha ttable 5.8> 1.677 df=48(25+24-2),α=0.05. Then, the culculation of the post-test of the both classes: experimental and control classes, it was calculated that the tobtained was 2.4 > tha ttable 1.677. Thus, the desriptive hypothesis (Ha) was accepted where there is a significant effect of using EGRA technique toward students’ grammar mastery. Then, the second tobtained was shown that there are a significant differences of the students’ grammar mastery who were not taught by using EGRA technique. From this research, it was found that EGRA as a technique influence students’ grammar mastery. It is based on the three hyphotesis that were accepted.
