ABSTRACT Lilies Zakyah Putri: 2319031, " An Analysis of Student Perceptions and Vocabulary Acquisistion on Online Game Mobile Legends at SMP N 02 Kec. Payakumbuh" This study was motivated by the growing interest among teenagers in strategy-based online games that use English as one of the languages used in communication interfaces and player interactions. Gaming activities such as Mobile Legends are believed to provide authentic linguistic input that has the potential to enrich players' vocabulary indirectly through the context of communication and repetitive game tasks. This study aims to analyze students' perceptions of the online game Mobile Legends and the acquisition of English vocabulary obtained in the online game. The method used was descriptive quantitative, with 70 students who actively play Mobile Legends selected as research subjects using purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of an English vocabulary test, which included multiple choice, matching, and translation tests, as well as a questionnaire on the use of Mobile Legends, which contained 19 statements regarding the frequency of playing, duration, motivation, and perceptions of the use of English in the game. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation to test the relationship between the two variables. The results showed that most respondents had moderate to high vocabulary proficiency, with an average test score ranging from 70 to 85 on a scale of 100. Meanwhile, the questionnaire results showed that the frequency of playing games and exposure to English in games was quite high among the majority of students. Correlation analysis produced a value of r = 0.68 (p 0.05), indicating a positive and significant relationship between the intensity of playing Mobile Legends and English vocabulary acquisition.
