Masalah Psikologi SIswa pada Penampilan Berbicara Bahasa Inggris kelas 11 di MAN 2 Bukittinggi
The research is conducted based on the facts in English speaking performance. Where some students looked so anxious that they forgot what they were going to say. Furthermore, students feel shyness to speak English in front of the class, and students are less enthusiastic when learning English. These problems included psychological problems in English speaking performance. This research aimed to find out the psychological problems most often faced by students at the eleventh grade of MAN 2 Bukittinggi. This research is quantitative. The population of this research was all class XI students, totaling 223 students. The sample from this research were 55 students. To collect data, this research used a closed questionnaire distributed to students that consisted of 5 indicators (anxiety, shame, lack of self-confidence, lack of motivation, and fear of making mistakes) with 25 statements. The results showed that 86.1% of students feel anxiety. Then students who had problems lack of confidence were 74.1%, then students who had problems with shyness were 77.2%, were afraid of making mistakes 77.5%, and students who had problems lacking motivation were 70.1%. From these results, it was found that anxiety is the psychological problem in English speaking performance that is most often faced by students at the eleventh grade of MAN 2 Bukittinggi with a percentage of 86.1%.
